Zuzu Palooza is a community celebration of our furry friends - and fundraiser for Zuzu's health care (an elderly kitty living with kidney failure). Activities include live screen printing by Hijinx Mixed, live pet portrait paintings (bring a photo of your pet!) by Green Goodies, live letterpress demo by Washboard Press, live block printing demo by Polka! Press, a raffle full of fun art and gifts, cat card making, a cat themed photo booth, and pin making! Local makers bernie & zuzu, Taco Cat Creations and Hijinx Mixed will be vending. Vegan cupcakes provided by Heirloom Bakery! The fun starts at 1pm, printmaking demos and crafty activities happen all afternoon, we sing happy birthday to Zuzu at 3, and the raffle is at 3:30. Free (with suggested donation options) and open to the public! Come one come all! Find us in the 3rd floor gallery of the Madison Enterprise Center/Commonwealth Building!

Improvisational Drawing

Join us for a process-based class exploring abstraction through improvisational drawing. This class is perfect for both beginning and more advanced students. Class will begin with a refresher of the formal elements of art and design such as color, line, shape, texture and composition. Students will be guided through a series of group and individualized prompts focused on abstraction. Students will leave the class with a series of experiments and directions to build upon in their own creative practice. Creativity, material exploration and the art-making process will be the emphasis of this course.

Ready to color your way through winter with a rainbow of art projects? Join me for Warm Creativity on Cold Afternoons! Returning for a mini-winter season, I am back in the Pinney Library Studio from 3:30-5:30 every Thursday in Feb. and every Tuesday in March with drop-in art making projects for grown-ups, teens, and kids. Different surprise projects and medium(s) will be featured each week to help you add some color play to your winter day. No registration necessary, drop-in and get creative with your friends and neighbors of all ages.
